Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about managed IT, cybersecurity, pricing, onboarding, and working with AM3 Technology & Cybersecurity.

General

What is managed IT services?

Managed IT services is a proactive approach to technology management where a provider like AM3 assumes responsibility for monitoring, maintaining, and securing your entire IT environment for a fixed monthly fee. Instead of paying by the hour when something breaks, you get 24/7 monitoring, helpdesk support, patch management, backup, and strategic planning — all included and designed to prevent problems before they impact your business.

How is AM3 different from other MSPs?

Three things set AM3 apart. First, we are cybersecurity-first — every engagement includes layered security, not just monitoring. Second, you get a named team with documented SLAs, not a revolving door of technicians. Third, we deliver business-aligned outcomes through strategic IT roadmaps tied to your goals, not a list of tools.

What industries does AM3 serve?

AM3 specializes in small and midsize businesses across South Florida, with particular depth in mortgage companies, accounting firms, law offices, nonprofits, and professional services. These industries share a common need for compliance-aware IT, strong data protection, and reliable security controls.

What areas does AM3 serve?

AM3's primary service area is South Florida, including Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and Palm Beach County. We provide on-site support in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and surrounding communities, and remote support for businesses with locations outside this region.

Services

What does AM3's CyberSecurity Risk Assessment (CSRA) include?

The CSRA is a comprehensive evaluation of your organization's cybersecurity posture. It includes vulnerability scanning, dark web exposure checks, email security analysis, endpoint assessment, network review, and a prioritized risk report with actionable remediation steps. It is free, takes about 30 minutes to start, and gives you a clear picture of where your business stands — even if you never become an AM3 client.

Does AM3 provide 24/7 monitoring?

Yes. AM3 provides 24/7/365 monitoring through our Security Operations Center. Critical alerts are investigated and escalated in real time, regardless of the hour. During business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM), your named team handles all support requests. After hours, our 24/7 emergency response team is available for critical incidents.

What is a vCISO?

A vCISO (virtual Chief Information Security Officer) is a senior cybersecurity leader who provides strategic security guidance on a fractional basis. For businesses that cannot justify a full-time CISO, AM3's vCISO service gives you executive-level security leadership, policy development, compliance oversight, and incident response planning — at a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire.

What is dark web monitoring?

Dark web monitoring continuously scans underground marketplaces, forums, and data dumps for your company's exposed credentials, intellectual property, and sensitive data. If your employee credentials or business data appear on the dark web, AM3 alerts you immediately and helps you take action before those credentials can be used in an attack.

Can AM3 help with Microsoft 365 migration?

Absolutely. AM3 manages Microsoft 365 migrations, tenant setups, and ongoing administration for businesses across South Florida. We handle license management, user provisioning, data migration, security configuration (including MFA and conditional access), and ongoing optimization so your team gets the most out of the platform.

Pricing & Onboarding

How much does managed IT cost?

AM3 provides fixed monthly pricing based on the number of users and devices in your environment, not per-incident billing. This means you can budget IT as a predictable operational expense. Pricing varies by environment size and needs, so we start with a free CSRA to understand your situation before proposing a plan.

How long does onboarding take?

Most onboarding engagements are completed within 2 to 4 weeks. The process starts with a CSRA, followed by discovery and documentation of your environment, deployment of our monitoring and management tools, and optimization over the first 90 days. Your team experiences no downtime during the transition.

How do I get started?

Start by scheduling a free CyberSecurity Risk Assessment (CSRA). It takes about 30 minutes, gives you a comprehensive view of your current security posture, and comes with no obligation. From there, we can discuss whether managed IT, a specific security service, or a co-managed arrangement is the right fit for your business.

Security

What compliance frameworks does AM3 support?

AM3 helps businesses meet requirements for GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act) for financial services, HIPAA for healthcare, CMMC for defense contractors, SOC 2 readiness, and general data protection regulations. Our CSRA identifies compliance gaps and we build remediation plans aligned to the specific framework your business needs.

Does AM3 support remote workers?

Yes. AM3 provides full support for remote and hybrid workforces, including secure VPN access, endpoint protection on home devices, cloud-based collaboration tools, identity management with multi-factor authentication, and remote helpdesk support. Whether your team is in the office, at home, or on the road, we keep them secure and productive.

What happens during a cybersecurity incident?

AM3 follows a structured incident response process: detection and alerting through our 24/7 SOC, containment of the threat, eradication of malicious activity, recovery of affected systems, and post-incident review. For active clients, our team begins responding immediately — isolating compromised endpoints, preserving evidence, and communicating next steps so you are never in the dark.
